MEET THE AUTHOR & ILLUSTRATOR
Our Story
Our Extraordinary Story began sixteen years ago with the Random Thoughts of our curious four-year-old, Landon, as he looked out the car window and stated more than asked,
"Did you know if you take random roads,
they'll lead you to extraordinary places?"
Launched mid-adventure on one of Dad’s infamous 'I-make-my-own-roads' mountain detours, the motto became a family favorite. Although born with visual challenges, Landon (AKA The Don or Don Diggly) has always had an incredible combo of wit, wisdom, wild imagination, and payloads of grit.
No limits. No fear. Just full-throttle dreams.
As a mom and author, I began collecting The Don's quirky quotes and out-of-this-world ideas, turning them into stories just for us — little capsules of childhood wonder. During homeschool breaks, we'd dream up wild sci-fi-fantasy mashups starring Don Diggly and his far-out adventures. I never planned to publish them — until the universe (and my family) nudged me.
Putting myself and my words out there is scary — like spacewalking without a tether — but the feedback has been wonderful. I've met the most amazing people: authors, editors, and mentors, all so willing to give me support and encouragement. Each of them has helped me understand that I'm not alone on this voyage. And yet, building a presence in today's digital galaxy? Still not exactly my comfort zone.
So, I kept orbiting around an idea for introducing Don Diggly and friends to the world. And, in one lightbulb moment (okay, it was more like a meteor strike of heavenly inspiration), I knew what I was going to do: a monthly or bimonthly subscription full of fun facts, space missions, star-sprinkled stories, and science-y surprises, all powered by STEM and a dash of imagination to fuel the fire of learning. I mapped everything out in hours; for those who know me, I'm sure you're laughing and agreeing that divine inspiration was definitely taking place!
There was just one thing missing — a stellar illustrator. (Again, the universe spoke, and I listened.)
Enter Anthony Woolf — an amazing and creative soul I've known since he was a kid doodling on napkins. Today, Anthony is a master of the art of visual storytelling, and I knew he would be the perfect co-pilot. I reached out, pitched the mission, and he was in.
And just like that, the planets aligned, and The Adventures of Don Diggly: A Space Odyssey was born.
Why space? Because when Landon was four (clearly a magical age), after watching a meteor shower, he ran inside and declared:
"Someday, I'm going to be among the stars!"
So here we are, chasing that cosmic dream — shooting for the stars and inviting you to join us on this galactic adventure.
Our
Mission
At The Adventures of Don Diggly, we believe that learning should be fun, messy, loud, and full of “WHOA!” moments. Our mission is simple: imagine big, stay curious, be fearless in your search for truth, boldly dream, and never stop asking “Why?”, “How?”, “What if?”, and “What’s that squishy thing over there?” We believe that every question is a launchpad with the potential to fuel a lifelong love of learning; every story an opportunity to chase the stars, celebrate wonder, and inspire explorers of all ages to write their own stories; every journey a chance to feel the thrill of discovering something new.
At the heart, The Adventures of Don Diggly is meant to be shared. We want to help bridge generations, spark conversations, and encourage children and adults to connect face-to-face, heart-to-heart, and mind-to-mind. In short, we want to fuel imagination, curiosity, and connection.
Welcome aboard! We’re excited to begin this journey with you!
